Sustainability
Palm Oil Free
Our pledge to create palm free, sustainable products comes from our belief that even the smallest acts can have a profound impact. Palm oil is a type of vegetable oil derived from the fruit of oil palm trees, mainly grown in tropical regions such as Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. It is used extensively in everyday products such as cosmetics, household cleaners and even ice cream. Unfortunately, the production and sourcing of palm oil does not come without consequences. One of the main concerns associated with palm oil production is the extensive deforestation and habitat destruction that occurs to make way for oil palm plantations. Large areas of tropical rainforests, which are rich in biodiversity and home to endangered species like orangutans, tigers, and rhinos, are often cleared to establish palm oil plantations. This loss of natural habitat contributes to the decline of these species and threatens overall biodiversity. You can learn more about sustainable agriculture from the World Wildlife Foundation.
